Iranian movie ‘Amir’ is slated to compete at the Karlovy Vary International Film in the Czech Republic.

Directed by Nima Eqlima, the movie will vie at the East of the West – Competition section of the 53rd edition of the festival.

'Amir' narrates the story of ordinary people from a new perspective.

Milad Keymaram, Hadi Kazemi, Mostafa Ghadiri, Sahar Dolatshahi and Vahid Manafi star in this movie.

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Czech Republic and the most prestigious in Central and Eastern Europe.

It is one of the oldest A-list film festivals, a category it shares with the festivals of Cannes, Berlin, Venice, San Sebastian, Moscow, Montreal, Shanghai, and Tokyo.

Among filmmakers, buyers, distributors, sales agents, and journalists, KVIFF is considered as the most important event in all of Central and Eastern Europe.

Intended for both film professionals and the general public, the festival annually presents some 200 films from around the world, and regularly hosts famous and important filmmakers.
